The First China Int'l Financial Services Conference is set to launch in Guangzhou on Nov. 11th at the Garden Hotel. The conference is organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the Guangzhou Government and the Export-Import Bank of China.

With the theme "Innovation, Cooperation and Win-Win", this two-day conference aims to gather enterprises, financial institutions, experts and government officials together to exchange ideas and have discussions on topics such as the current financial crisis. The conference offers an opportunity for cooperation between enterprises and financial institutions, with the aim of helping small and medium sized enterprises (SME) weather the difficulties.

Nearly 300 enterprises, financial and research institutions from home and abroad are slated to take part in the event, including 24 consulate officials in Guangzhou.

Top executives from JP Morgan (China), Think London and the CHUBBT Group from America, as well as officials from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, the People's Bank of China (Guangzhou branch) and the Guangdong Banking Regulatory Bureau have been invited as guest speakers.

Guangzhou plans to build itself up as a regional financial center in the south China area. Consequently, the city is providing the upcoming Int'l Financial Services Conference with rich resources and excellent conditions.

Up till the end of 2007, 69 foreign financial institutes had settled in this south China city. It is expected that the added value of the financial industry will respectively account for 7% and 14% of the city's GDP and tertiary industry by 2010. The financial industry will provide better services for enterprises and promote trade business in the city as more foreign financial institutes find homes in Guangzhou.
